About Kerrie
I’m a psychologist, writer and pragmatic idealist who has spent all her days observing and studying human behaviour and helping people navigate the complexities of love.
My desire is for all people to experience being fully seen, known, and cared for. This is, to be loved.
Since 2008, alongside my husband, I have been the proud Director of Motivating Minds Psychological Practice and, since 2017, its sister company, Motivating Marriages Psychology.
Formal study was a means to an end for me. Completing studies in psychology and criminology allowed me to become a psychologist in Australia which was the goal, but by no means the end. The end was, and is, to change the global landscape of love.
My curriculum vitae includes prison psychologist, corruption investigation officer, psychologist, couples therapist, and of course entrepreneur, business owner and writer. I have held the privileged position of being a trusted confidant for many people’s stories, and I am yet to come across a person whose story does not make sense to me.
Personally, I have wanted to be a psychologist for as long as I can remember. I used to say, if there was a God, I know he made me to do this. I lay awake at night thinking about human behaviour, lamenting the brokenness of humanity. I always have. I study psychology for fun. My idea of a great holiday is me and a psychology text book that I can deep dive into, and then discuss at length with anyone who will kindly feign a listening ear. I am a miniature cooking enthusiast, you can try to find my anonymous channel on “the YouTube” if you like. I love to cook. I get bored easily and I like adventure. I love being outdoors. It is my goal in life to master mud four wheel driving, and my happy place is on the open road with no destination in sight.
My defining characteristics are these: tenacity, a heart for humanity, and a problem solver. “Kerrie, it can’t be done”, is music to my ears! Just sit back and watch people. There is always a way.
